« Part 6: Lid and a drawer...part one Part 7 of A Paul Sellers' Box build series Part 8: PIP time... »

Let’s see, where was I…well, front of the box needed some work..

Then something about hinges needing installed…

Not really my strong suit….rebates on the ends were too narrow, had to widen them, to match the top of the box..
Wasn’t much I could do with the miss-cut groove….

Drawer was having issues….needed to add a shim along the top edge of the front..

Glue and clamps..sit for a while..glue not working….added a few brass nails, and then worked to lower the shim to fit….turned out, I also needed to “level” the bottom of the drawer….used a #3 plane…”CRACK”...grrrr

A piece of one drawer side had split off…more glue and clamps..

So, while this glue set up. I installed a handle…..might need it, to pull a sticky drawer out…

Doctor visit about the Kidney….got referred back to the Family doctor…had other issues going on…
Back home, took a less drastic approach to “level”

Instead of a larger bench plane. Sanded the repaired end smooth and flat…couple tries to get the drawer to slide in..

And all the air and dust came out in a big cloud,,,

Might as well open the lid, too…

Not too bad? Got out the can of stain…

Only to find out…it was empty…...had to run out and buy a new can…grrrr

Ok, I’ll get this stained and shellaked tomorrow, and come back with the PIP pictures

Stay tuned, just about done…
