and straighten the edges…For some reason, I decided to joint the edges first…

Hmmm, we have ways.

I have 2 Stanley No. 6 small jointers in the shop…and gave both a work out….because one has a smooth sole, and the other is a “c” model…

Any difference? Not really…Ok, got 4 edges jointed, and parallel to each other, with the sides matching in up…

To try and flatten a bit of cupping going on….

I worked the high spots down with the No.6….then followed up with a No. 4

And check for flat as I went..

Then rinse, and repeat, until all 4 faces are flat….have 2 boards that are now S4S…and a pile on the floor..

Set them aside, for now….and round up the “Usual Suspects”..

As the blank for the case’s bottom needs some lay out done..

IF I lay things out just right, that bad corner will be around in back of the case, and covered by the plywood back..

That will sit in a rebate…
Stay tuned….
