catch up time…..got a little more done…
Drawer dovetails…router without a jig?

Lay out 2 stop lines, one for the dovetails, one for the router….

Router stop line is flush with the top of the vise’s jaws….depth of cut is 1/2”. Remember, safety first…

MK1 eyeball to guide the cuts….a bit rough..

We have ways..

Couple of chisels for clean up….then use the pins to layout the tails…bandsaw to make a few cuts…

Again, chisels to clean things up…test fit?

Looking better? issues with a cupped drawer front?

No problem…
As I went along, getting all the dovetails done, I stashed the drawers out of the way..just the fronts and 2 sides, each..

All done….I was going to use the Stanley 45 to do the dados…..by the time i get the plane set up, build a jig…was quicker on the tablesaw…..and, i don’t even have a dado set for that saw….

No problem…set the rip fence twice. I did find enough plywood for 2 drawers IN the shop ( had to go out and buy a 2’ x 4’ panel yesterday)

And, that evening got one glued up….and one ready, almost…..backs for the drawers were a tad too long (1/8” )
and the ends weren’t square enough…1/2 the thickness of the saw blade on each end…problems solved…
So..stay tuned, Drawer building 101 will continue…
