« Part 2: A glue up.. Part 3 of A tray from those Ash scraps series no next part

Have about one more week to get all that Ash scrap wood used up…then a deck project takes over. But..

This time, I remembered the dividers….had to, as the bottom gets glued on over them..let it sit for a day…the a clean up was done..

Bottom was a tad too wide…we have ways…

Millers Falls No. 11….seemed to do the job..

The ends were a bit long, too…sanded them smooth, rather than mess with end grain and planes…

Aslo tried to improve the “HandiGrip” on the handle…lot of sanding on that…was finally able to open the can of stain I have been using for these projects….started with staining the bottom…first..

Brushed on, then wiped down…then the sides were next..

Then the insides were done, trying to get into all the nooks and crannies..

let this sit a day or so…had brass to install…needed a couple tools..

yankee 41 to drill pilot holes, Stanley #1 Phillips to drive the screws…( only snapped one screw head off)

Waiting on a coat of varnish….fancy feet.

There is just enough scraps left over, to build one more Recipe box…we’ll see…

Stay tuned..
