« Part 2: Mortises, Beads, and other stuff.. Part 3 of Grandson's Coffee Table series Part 4: A start on the drawer »

By Monday standards, it was more than enough…screws were bought….glue was spread…nothing got broke..this time

Used a staged approach…ends were glued up and clamped first. Set down onto the floor…then the long aprons were added with more glue and clamps. Then these things were added, try to get things squared up

Finally just set everything up onto the tops….top of the table, because the top of the tablesaw was too small..

Added a few more clamps…getting to be a regular “forest of Clamps” set up a framing square, to check for square…wasn’t long enough…added a 36” steel straight edge, that did reach…added a caul, to give a diagonal clamp something to hold onto..

Was about a 1/2” out….pulled that back to square, and tightened the corner blocks..again…
Let this sit there, until Tuesday…

Worked a bit on the vise rehab….one of the old wooden jaws was replaced by a “new” Ash jaw…Decided that was enough for a Monday….swept the place, called it a day…

Stay tuned..Tuesday was a whopper of a day….

Sweep the floor, that is a concept I should explore? Usually just use a hose of the D.C. and suck up the big stuff.
