Well, I guess I get to bask in the newspaper glory once again. I was informed by my neighbor that another article has come out about my collection. And yes, I went to the local store and bought a newspaper on the news stand. While this article is almost identical to the other, this time the pictures are in color.

Since my last blog entry, I have received several text messages and notifications from friends and family that are sending me nail aprons from around the country. I am, to say the least, beside myself and truly blessed. I am very happy they are so thoughtful. But, what is also making happy is that other people are taking up the collection themselves. It’s a worthwhile venture to preserve history. I rather doubt that there will be a museum housing these garments but, who know’s for sure. But, until then, these grubby aprons will still continue to amaze me, just that someone long ago was wearing this garment while they were cutting rafters in the hot sun.

Take up the cause and preserve history.

I’m certainly glad that I know a celebraty….I’ve never known one before before……!!! It sounds like you are getting several hits from folks wanting to doante their aprons to you…..Like you said, there’s nothing like preserving history, and I’d bet each and every one of ‘em has a story to tell….if you were only able to listen….Good score, my man….I try to preserve a little history in my antique farm tools, and equipment from the family…..

Thanks Rick. It’s a passion for me. I’ve always been a collector. When I first got on LJ, I posted pictures of my shop area and someone posted that I was a pack rat. Well, I’m not sure how to take that, but I do collect. Aprons happens to be what interests me. I’ll probably keep it up long after I put my tools down. I just like history, that simple! And, with friends like you, it makes this hobby possible. Thanks for everything.
