Location: Pringle Bay, South Africa
Website:
I'm a retired US Army helicopter pilot / aviation officer who lives in South Africa with my wife, Christine, in a small beach village called Pringle Bay. I also have 3 beautiful daughters, who unfortunately live about half a world away, so I don't get to see them very often.
Woodworking has been a hobby of mine throughout my adult life but I was only able to build a proper shop after I settled into our Pringle Bay house in 2007. Since I built and outfit my shop, I have kept busy doing contract cabinet work for the locals......word of mouth is a wonderful thing!! The cabinet work I've been doing is great because no two jobs are the same.....each comes with it's unique challenges. But I also like working with hardwood and South Africa affords me an opportunity to work with some "exotic" african woods which are almost resonably priced here. I consider myself an average to good woodworker who knows he has a long way to go and trys to learn something every time I open my shop. I guess the main thing that draws me to woodworking, other then the satifaction from creating something unique and useful, is that you can only strive for perfection but never get there.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
