Location: Anchorage Alaska

I have been woodworking for a couple of years and have found great peace and great amount of joy and passion for creating things in the shop. I am blessed with a nice little shop and thankful for the chance to continue to grow and learn.

Welcome to LJ. Any challenges for a woodworker in Alaska?

It’s harder to get exotic wood at a good price and not as much lumber to reclaim because the state is not that old but all and all wonderful. Long winters so lots of shop time. Summer is hard to be in the shop because I’d rather be hiking, fishing, and camping. Spend a lot of time holed up so it’s nice to get out in the summer.
