no previous part Part 1 of Cedar Outdoor Storage series no next part

A year or so ago I began thinking of a storage solution to keep our outdoor patio cushions looking nice during the winter months and also to get some of the kids’ toys out of the garage. I found a plan for an outdoor storage unit on a canadian woodworking site ( and used the general concept to come up with my own more decorative/ornate design.

Instead of the boring flat design in that plan, I decided to create a series of arched, raised panels on the front and two sides. To save myself time and energy, the back side would consist of simple tongue and groove cedar.

I’ve been chipping away at this project as time allows and feel like i’m finally almost there. Just need a few more hours one of these weekends to finish it all.

Below are some photos of the progress. I’ve made it 100% from cedar with the exception of the pressure treated 2×2 frame and the ply which serves as the bottom.
