Alright guys im new to this forum and heres my question. I bought the porter cable 4210 dovetail jig. Heres where it gets confusing for me. I have a dewalt router that only accepts 1/4” bits. Of course the jig i bought came with a half inch shank bit and the 3/4” OD guide bushing, so I am unable to use the bit, but im able to use the guide bushing.
So here is my setup, i have a 7degree, 1/4” shank router bit in my router with the supplied 3/4” OD bushing, and bottom line my half blind dovetials are not sliding into place. I am thinking that i dont have the right combination setup in my router. Has anyone used a 1/4” dovetail bit with a smaller guide bushing? If so, what is the OD of the guide that you are using. I know this may seem way confusing, but trust me, im more confused than anyone on this post. haha Thanks for the help.

Have your say...
