Hi, sometimes it feels like I collect tools more than actually use them. And then I can’t leave well enough alone and I have to hack them. I just get ideas or get inspired by dungeons else’s and then have to make it reality. Part 2: 2nd Hack to Delta Cruzer Miter Saw - the Shadow Line

Another hack off my checklist. You know those free LED flashlights you get with purchase at Harbor Freight? Took it apart and hacked it into a shadow line guide and work light. Shadow lines are a more accurate method than lasers for showing your cut line. It even shows you the width of your kerf. I didn’t want to spin it up here but when it does the teeth width will make a solid line the thickness of the kerf. Now I will know exactly where it will cut. No more eyeballing and guessing...

Part 3: Harbor Freight Dust Collector - Impeller Upgrade

I don’t know why I decided to do an impeller upgrade on my Harbor Freight dust collector as it was performing adequately especial since I went with a set up that had it doing a very short run. However of course I couldn’t leace well enough alone and I had read that if I could get the Rikon impeller replacement then it’s a 15 min job to pull the old one out and drop the new one right in.
