« Part 4: In the home stretch Part 5 of Mission-style mahogany desk series no next part

Some time in the shop this morning cutting and fitting the braces for the drawers.

A few shots of a single brace.

and the underside

I’m using poplar because I ran out of mahogany.

Currently, the braces are held in place by the stop dados only. No glue or other attachment. I also used the bottom “L” for the drawer guides. My thinking was that these braces are strictly for the drawers and are not meant to correct or support anything else. I would very much appreciate other’s thoughts/experiences with this type of cross brace, whether I should glue, or use a different method to support the drawers.

Here’s a shot of the whole thing assembled.

Thanks for looking, and thanks for your comments.
