4” to 2-1/2” DC system modification - 10 replies

Picked up a Wen 660 CFM dust collector. It’s a 4” system, but my TS has a 2-1/2” dust port. Easy enough to add a reducer. But, I’ve seen many advocate for trying to avoid reducing the system’s airflow. So, I was thinking that maybe I can “port” the reducer. Basically just drill a few 1/2” holes in the collar of the coupler to effectively main...

DIY Rail Upgrade for Delta 36-725T2 - 5 replies

Recently purchased a Delta 36-725T2 from Lowe’s. Overall, I’m extremely happy and impressed with the saw. However, one thing that kind of bugged me was the two piece rail. The two halves just didn’t line up quite right. Resulting in it being a little finicky when sliding the fence across the portion where the two rails connect. And also creat...

Delta 36-725T2 - Might have struck gold - 0 replies

Background/Purchase Recently decided to upgrade my old Ryobi bench top TS for more of a “forever” saw. I’m not a pro, and have no aspirations to be. I don’t do commissioned work either. Just typical DIY homeowner type work. Plus, I have other hobbies. So, the biggest factors for my purchase were price, size, and portability. I wasn’t avers...

Treating cast iron on new TS - 10 replies

Finally decided a good deal was never going to pop up in the used market around me, and bought a new Delta 36-725T2. Putting everything together today. The instructions say that AFTER assembly, the ALL protectant on the cast iron table should be cleaned off, and wax (or similar) should be added. My question is what about the sides of the t...

Anyone try these spring loaded corner clamps? - 8 replies

Not sure how I’d never come across this product before, but today was the first time I’ve seen these… I already have both the ratcheting and vise style corner clamps. Even made a set that’ll work with traditional bar clamps. But these spring loaded ones look like they could be convenient. My only thought is that they probably don...

Opinions on Ridgid 4520 Table Saw? - 32 replies

New guy here. Been getting more serious about DIY projects over the past year or two. Currently using an older Ryobi table saw I was gifted. Have done some of my own upgrades to it (increased the table size and built a new fence). Frankly, the Ryobi does just about all I need (currently). But I’d like to upgrade at some point. Fortunately, th...
