Welcome to my shop. I’ve been in this shop now for approximately 10 years. I was lucky enough to find a house my Wife loved that had a prebuilt 2 story 32’x38’ stand alone shop. The shop was bare, as in studs and only 4 electrical outlets. So I had a blank canvas to work with and was able to design the layout and build all the work benches and storage units. The layout has remained pretty much the same thru the years and I keep adding old tools to the walls for decoration. The upstairs was originally planned as an office and although I do keep a desk and all my Woodworking/Engineering books up there it has become more of a storage area mostly. Added central heat and air and satellite TV making the shop all season. I am very lucky to have this space and spend most of my time in the shop now that I am retired. Thanks for looking.!

Rick, what a beautifully organized shop you have!!!! I am just glad that my wife is at work and not looking over my shoulder at your post. She yells at me enough for “tracking sawdust in the house” and “making a mess in MY shop”. :)

I can well understand why your shop was featured. You have done well with the space that you have available. I like the way you have separated out the lumber storage into the next garage bay and made use of the “dead” space between the wall the garage door in that area. And having your tools on wheels is an absolute necessity given the available space. You have a nice set of tools to play with. I would enjoy working in there- you have a gorgeous work space, nice tools, a heated shop and a tv. If you only had a bed and refrigerator in there you would not have any incentive to come into the house!!

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed visiting with you.

Very well organized. Recognized the engineer’s touch :) I also have been exiled to a single garage bay and am in the process of downsizing and re-evaluating my needs. Notice several Grizzly products and a I believe a Rigid saw – very similar to to what I have. Love your shirt. Go pokes!!

Where can I get the plans for your drill press table? I’d really like to make one for my DP. If asked what your profession was when seeing your shop photos for the first time, I could have guessed engineer. NEVER, have I seen such a neat, clean well organized shop. “Shezabeaudymate!”

I’m interested in making a table for my drill press like the one pictured in your shop photos. Can you give us another close up photo or tell us where you got the plans. Your’s looks great and I’d like to replicate it.

Good to see someone just as anal as I am, lol. Nice, clean, and organized shop. Did you clean it before the photo shoot? What kind of dust collection system? Wish you were a Grizzly fan too. Need to barrow some sawdust? :0) Very nice, you have my full respect, and it’s nice to know I’m not alone. We have a disorder, eveything must be put in order.

Hey Rick,
Nice shop, Would you consider posting some more pics of your drill press table? I’d like to get a closer look.

I used to live near you 21st and Harvard area, then to Claremore, now in Virginia. Tulsa is a great town, we miss it.
