I am a Newbie to woodworking and scroll sawing...I am totally hooked!!

That statement still rings true today. Having been in this field for a few years since I first joined LumberJocks. My love for woodworking has taken a larger roll in my life. Now it is my business as well.

My name is Laney Shaughnessy, I am the owner and craftsman of A Simple Design of Ocala, Inc. which is a custom woodworking and furniture company.

I am also a video blogger, teaching how to videos on youtube and sharing my love for woodworking with others. You can find me on youtube by visiting my channel at

I also have a website dedicated to woodworking.

you can find me tweeting daily on things involving woodworking on twitter...

In the Website you will find updates about whats happening around the shop. be able to watch my how to videos as well as my live streaming shop cam and interactive chat. From the site you can visit the SHOP TALK forum, a place where woodworkers meet to share ideas, tips, tricks, projects and more..General discussions circled around this craft we all love so much. Be sure to check it out. registration is free to join and you can user some of your favorite social networks to register...... I hope to see you all there.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
