Location: Cherokee Village, Arkasas

I'm a 60 year old white male, 6' 3", 350lbs. I've worked with wood since I was around 20, but could never afford the tools or have the space to work in until I was working as a Park Ranger in Florida around '95. I had a back patio where I built my own table saw and such. I was disabled in 2001 and moved to Missouri where I built a 20 x 30 Pole Barn shop and my wife and I started doing some for a neighbor who had a cedar craft business. Actually I taught my wife how to do the work and I just helped as I could. We used the profits to build up our tool inventory and now I have a fairly complete set of shop tools. I favor Delta, Porter Cable, Rigid and Grizzly tools. My health has deteriorated to the point that I can't do as much as I'd like, but I still drool over tools and wood magazines. I plan to try to build some furniture, doing some lathe work for practice. I bought a new lathe 6 years ago and have hardly used it. I work out of my basement now.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
