I've gone to the darkside. - 11 replies After years of swearing I would never need or own a Festool tool, today I received my Festool Domino. I feel dirty, but damn, it sure cuts mortises fast. I mortised and glued up a face frame in just under an hour and I think I could do it faster once me and my new domino become better friends. |

To Dominio or slot mortise? - 10 replies I have an order for 12 chairs and another order for 8 chairs coming in, normally I use a router and strait edge to mortise loose tenons for small tenons and a floor mortiser for big mortises. The chairs will all be small mortises, so the though of all the repeat make-ups and setups is making me a bit exhausted before i begin the job, lol. S... |

You every have one of those days/weeks - 6 replies So I am already 2 days behind on my build schedule, so then my mortise machine motor dies in the middle of the project. I fuse with it for a couple of hours, call tech support for an hour or two, so they pronounce it dead, so now I am building a mortise jig, another day shot. The joy of surfacing lumber. - 1 reply Ah what fun, as many may know I am more than happy to pay a lumber mill their going rate to surface lumber.
