I attended the Charlotte Woodcarvers show last weekend, and it was amazing! I was mesmerized the whole 3 days with the great people I met, the awesome carvings, and the sense of fellowship and camaraderie that was everywhere to be found. I took many pics, and whittled them down to these. I named the artist when possible, and wish that more people had labeled their work after the judging so I could have given them credit for work well done. I also entered 3 piec...

Best in show, “Turtle Island” by Bill Johnson. Some amazing art by Clair Smith…... The Civil War carbine, top of photo is done by Clair, flintlock on bottom is by Mike Jackson. Pieces by Mike Jackson, Flintlock is by Mike Jackson, Civil War carbine is by Clair Smith. Amazing ducks by Glen Lofton. Last of the pics from the show….. Mountain man by Jeff bailey, Wonderful cats by Desiree Hajny…... Jim McGuire did the natural brown fish in the background (wish I could have gotten a better pic), and the stylized wren.
