I am a shop teacher and just like the rest of the country/world, Covid shut us down last year. Given short schedules and quarantines, it’s been a tough year. However we made progress and I have about 30 students ready to submit their projects for the district qualifying round. There are 20 spots available and the minimum score to qualify is an 85%. We will see what happens. Here’s a glimpse of the shop room as we were setting up for the judging to happen the next day (wed 4/28)

There are some nice pieces of work from your students.

It is great for you to be a leader, many young minds are opened in shop class, thanks. Very nice projects.

I have a nephew in the advanced class and I believe he has two projects going to the competition! I’ve seen one, a flag, and it was really good. The other, a felt-lined case, sounds incredible. Its hard to believe how much skill your class has, great job!

Middle School shop is where I got my interest/basic skills in wood working. Hard to find a local school with an active shop program. My hats off to you!
