I just stumbled onto the LJ website recently while surfing the internet for bandsaw box designs. I must say, I am impressed! There are several wonderful projects that the LJ community has made. Thanks for your inspiration!

Then I checked out the blog section. I am a child of one of the first computer generations. I am can find my way around a computer very well and I have said on several occasions that if it were not for Google and spellcheck, I would not be able to hold down a job! But with all of that being said, I have always thought of blogging and sites such as facebook to be well – lame and stupid. And then I checked out the LJ blog site. I realized that I did not like blogging and facebook because they tend to center around things in life that do not hold much interest to me. But I am very excited about learning the craftsmanship involved in woodworking and creating a blog about that passion does seem to be something I may actually enjoy. Soooo, I thought I would create an account and make an attempt at blogging my woodworking journey. Perhaps some other newbie woodworker can read along and avoid some of the pitfalls that I encounter along the way. And if nothing else, perhaps I will have a few of you post good reviews about my newbie-ish projects causing my ego to inflate to unnatural levels!

James, that is what this group is all about- individuals helping one another. I have found that we all can both learn from one another and teach others as we pursue our individual woodworking paths, irrespective of whether we are a newbie or a seasoned pro .

I am looking forward to seeing some of your posts.

Blog on!

I am just as new in woodworking. Well really not new but I found out that working on projects only during weekends will make a very very long learning curve. I am still in the very early stages of my woodworking career and very far from the talent and skill of the guys here. But you are in the right company. Scott and the rest will always have encouraging words for guys like us. Right Scott?

Me too! I’m semi-new. I’ve been doing this as of today 215 days. Compared to many others here I’m a woodworking neophyte. But, this is the place to be one of those. Got a question? You’ve got 10 answers overnight and a dozen other verifications along with as many ‘other takes’ on the situation. Instant qualified opinions. It’s very handy.

I’m one of those experts here :>) At least I’ve been around for a long time and I’m still learning so welcome to the fun house that meets ocasionaly in the dark and dreary garage/basement/workshop. Some even work outdoors.
