Thanx! to all for the warm welcome. From the little bit of “stalking” I’ve done so far, I’m more eager than ever to get my shop up and running. It’s not much…so far:

Craftsman 10” TS – it’s the much maligned “flex-drive”, and I’ve read, and understand, all the comments…but it was FREEEEEE!!! And although it’s old – it was pretty much unused, so it’s in pristine condition, and I think will serve me well to get started. I’ve lubed it, trued it up, installed new blade, Incra V27 miter gauge, and waxed the top so it’s like glass.

Craftsman 10” CMS – again, not “pro” quality…but I split the cost with dear ole’ Dad (50/50), so I’m not complainin’.

Just inherited an old Craftsman 9” radial arm saw…which I have discovered is part of the Emerson recall. So I’ll be sending that back for the $100 bucks.

I think I’ll roll the $100 into a new plunge router. The TS has the larger extensions on both sides, so I’ll modify the right side into a router table (until I build a dedicated one).

One thing that’s high on my wish list – that I don’t see a lot of talk on – is a good drill press. It’ll sure make mortises, not to mention plain old straight holes, a lot easier.

Anyway, thanx again – and an upfront THANX to all of the masters on LJ for your wit, wisdom, and great ideas (which I won’t hesitate to steal at every opportunity!)

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
