no previous part Part 1 of Knesset Menorahs series Part 2: Beth Hallel Menorahs »

Hi everyone,
Been busy this fall. I was blessed with a commission to build
two scaled down versions of the Knesset Menorah for Congregation Beth Hallel
in Birmingham, Alabama, The Knesset Menorah is a 16’ bronze
sculpture in front of the State building in Jerusalem, Israel.
My wife, who is a skilled artist drew up the composit based on pictures we
downloaded off the net. The Menorahs were to be 6 1/2 ft tall on mobile stands
with lights. I built them out of Alder to match some existing cabinetry.
This is my first experience with this material and I like it very much.
I am almost done and only have a few more carvings to do and then the finishing process begins.
I will post the completed project later.

Wow! Wish I had a second lifetime to develop those skills and level of knowledge. You and your wife make a great team. Does a heart good just to look at them.
