Gluing metal to wood - 11 replies

I have a customer that wants a thin metal veneer put over the face of a picture frame. Without going into boring details, I want to know if any of you guys know what kind of glue to use? I have come to a semi conclusion that maybe a metal gluing 2 part epoxy would work. Like the single unit 2 tube style you get at Home Depot etc. Will t...

Band Saw Tension - 23 replies

I just changed the tires on my band saw and I thought this would be a good time to ask about something that has been bothering me. Waaay sharper than Xacto blades - 22 replies

I have always used Xacto knives for all kinds of things, but came across something much better. What could be sharper than surgical scalpels? You use them exactly like an Xacto knife but these cut a much thinner line – perfect for cutting picture frame matting or anything else that requires a fine cut. I found them on Ebay. Since h...

Live Edge - 1 reply

I just turned a Maple bowl with a live edge for my wifey. She didn’t want anything but Walnut Oil for a finish, so that’s what I did. But I don’t know what I should use to finish the live edge bark…. never did it before. I thought about leaving it without a finish but figured it would just get knocked off or dry out an...
