So I went down to Springfield MO on Feb 14th to the Grizzly Showroom. Managed not to spend all of my money but sure put a dent in the bank account, but I think it worth it.
The man reason for heading there was to pick up m new lathe, I didn’t want to wait for the new G0766 since it has now been pushed out to May 26th. So I purchased the G0733. I gotta say I’m impressed with it overall so far but haven’t done a lot with it yet. Give me a couple weeks and I will post a review of it.
For now if your interested you can see the Pick-up and Set-up on my YouTube channel at":
Check out the other videos while your there, trying to keep a one a week release rate.

Nice. Where are ya from? Springfield is about 3 hours from my house. I bought my go575 table saw there. Awesome place. Did you go to bass pro?

Near Topeka KS, Didn’t get to go to Bass-Pro. Just didn’t have time since Dad Had to get back home so he could go to a church function. I have a feeling that as I acquire further upgrades however, we will go pick them up as well so will have other opportunities.

I am about 45 minutes from Grizzly but don’t go very often as had a really bad experience with them and found their customer service to be non-existent.

CyF .. I will be looking forward to your review, and I am sure that it will be favorable. And congrats on your new lathe.

Kepy ... You must have caught someone on a bad day or some thing.
I have never had any problem with the customer support at Grizzly … In fact just the opposite, as an example: when I received my new table saw there was a bent part (shipping damage) I called Grizzly and explained what happened … Well, they Air Freighted a new part so that I would have it the next day … Try that with Peachtree …
This is only one of many examples of my dealings with Grizzly.

I really wish there was a Grizzly somewhere in New England. They seem to be cheaper versions of more famous brands. I’d buy some of their tools, but the shipping cost is absurd. Well, okay it is probably reasonable for the size of the item, but it is absurd to my wallet.

I bought a lathe from them in 2009 the G0462. Over the past 5 years it has had the regular maintenance issues that come with equipment used a lot for that many years. When ever I would call for replacement parts I never had a problem. At one point the Cast Iron wheel for the quill broke. I called and 3 days later received a brand new plastic one for the version that they sell now, called them and they sent me the correct one overnight and at no charge didn’t even want the plastic one back. So I have no problems with their customer service. When I was there this past weekend everyone I dealt with was kind and helpful. The forklift driver at the warehouse was awesome when he answered the door I got his OK to film him bringing it out and explained why, he said “So ya want to make me famous? OK”
Anyway I am currently working on a project that will take me through every aspect of the lathes capabilities when it is finished I will post that review and there will be a new video or two on the YouTube Channel.

I am eagerly awaiting your review of this unit. Having had a strong desire for a lathe since I was a kid and used on in shop class, I will be living vicariously. I could never get a lathe this big into my basement. Maybe some day I’ll purchase a lathe south of $1,000. Plus the tools and the sharpening system.

Have your say...
