So, I built a cabinet for a customer. She started to stain it, and fingerprints/smudges began to appear. It hasn’t had any clear applied yet, just stain. Does anyone know of a way to remove this?

About to start setting up my RAS. Quick questions... - 14 replies

First off, I haven’t owned one before, so this is new to me! I’m unsure how to build the table top for it. The angle iron on the sides has adjustment up and down, and I don’t know why or what to do. Do I put a sheet of mdf under and on top? Or am I way off? I haven’t even considered how to build the rest of it yet....

Picked up a Dewalt RAS today - 9 replies

Found it on craigslist. I think it is a 1959. Around there anyway. Showed up to buy it, and started talking to the guy. We probably talked for 30 minutes. Long story short, he have me the saw for free. I need to find a switch for it. The one on it is broken. I might end up wiring in a paddle switch if I can’t find something origina...

Purchased a Craftsman 21833 today - 5 replies

Well, after shopping and reading long enough, i bought a 21833 today. I wanted the Delta 36-725. Lowes proved to be annoying with ordering, and in the end, it was going to take a month or two to get it. The trunnion issue has been fixed. As long as I back off the knob, my readings stay true. I already have an Incra miter gauge for it. I&#...

Delta 36-725 availability? - 24 replies

I’ve been reading about this saw lately. It seems like a good upgrade from what I have now. Lowes seems to be the only place to buy one. However, I can’t get it within 100 miles. I can search past that for some reason. Anyone else run into this problem? Any advice? I might end up ordering a Grizzly G0715p just because I can get one.

Need advice on cutting 2x12's - 16 replies

I have a project that I have to complete this weekend. I need to cut some 2×12’s, and I’m not sure which route to take. I considered making an oversized sled for my table saw. My saw sits in a 3’x8’ table, so I’d have support. I don’t have a radial arm saw or a circular saw. I’ve been looking f...

Ordered some chisels today. - 39 replies

http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=70784&cat=1,41504 Needless to say, I’m pretty excited. I’m new to woodworking, only a year, and I don’t even own chisels. I can wait to start learning. I read conflicts information about stainless, but I figured I’d try these. The price was hard to pass up. Now I have to...

Workbench questions - 8 replies

I see a lot of nice workbenches out there. I also see a lot of options, and add-ons. But, I see a lot of choices. Being new to woodworking, this leaves me with a lot of questions. Vises. I have seen a lot of types, and I don’t know the advantages to the styles. From single, to double, wood, steel, it goes on and on. I’m also...

Trying to remember a project, but can't! - 3 replies

Sorry guys, I’m sure this is the wrong sub forum. I couldn’t find one that was suitable. A few years ago I saw a project I wanted to try, buy I don’t know what to call it, and my brain is going mushy trying to think about it. If I remember right, it was a block of wood. The center had been drilled or turned, leaving a flo...
