My first post here was nearly seven years ago and it was one of my original 16’ yurts. It was back in the early days when there was only 1,431 projects http://lumberjocks.com/projects/1431. Back then I was experimenting with design details for the compression hub along with the door. I have since fine tuned many design details and have been using recycled vinyl for the canvas. Been a long road but the yurt adventure has grown over the years. I am now the project coordinator for the Camp Fire Emergency Shelter and Recovery Project. Providing on site emergency construction of yurt shelters. Made with lumber materials saw milled from salvaged trees at or nearby area impacted by the Camp Fire.
