I am a general maker of things....That means, that no matter what, I need to be doing something with my hands. I have a degree in Fine Art, however I am a school teacher.
To keep my hands, and mind busy I like really enjoy wood turning. But any kind of wood working projects are just fine too! Other than this, I enjoy fixing and improving my home inside and out, as well as creating art in any way possible.
My formal background training is in studio pottery, where shape and form, as well as function are key elements. This is where I got the feel for wood turning. Many of the same elements are evident there too. I am relatively new to woodturning, but I have taken a 6 week class here in CT and made many small projects so far, and plan to do much more. I have been interested in woodturning and have been thinking about buying a lathe for the better part of the last 15 years, which is when I first learned about wood turning while studying Art in college.
I also enjoy spoon carving, and box making. Whenever I can get a hand tool in my hand and work quietly I am happy!

My workshop consists of a 6" jointer, 14 inch bandsaw, 10 inch table saw, 12 inch planer, Steele City Midi lathe and numerous amounts of hand power tools and traditional hand tools.
