Handmade wooden kazoos!
I start with a blank ¾” x ¾” x 5”. I made a little jig to drill them in the drill press. I use a 5/16” brad point bit. It’s not long enough to drill all the way through, so I have to flip them. I switch to a forsner bit and drill the hole in the body. I drill it about 1 ¾” from one end. I cut the top piece on the bandsaw with the aid of a fence. I cut them ¼” thick and 2” long and ¾” wide to match the body of the kazoo. I sand the top pieces on some sticky backed sandpaper laid out on my table saw. I wear a glove to try and save my fingertips. I use a 100 grit and a 220 grit. I drill a hole about a 1/16” deep in the top with a forsner bit just off center. The ...
