Waterfall slab #1: Joining two slabs at endgrain

Before I get to the waterfall, I needed to join two medium sized (3.5 ’ long each) together. As the slabs were cut from the same tree, my hope was a symmetrical result.

Note: All this was done on my CNC

First I need to cut out the butterflies:

Then I need to position / place the butterflies

Now I get to cut the spline

And then glue the spline

Then cut out the butterflies

And glue them in

Not shown: Flipping it over and doing it all over again!

End Result – sanded
