I'm in the process of building a completely new shop - remodeling a 2 bay carport.

The concrete floor is down and cured, insulation installed and I finished all the wiring I'm comfortable with yesterday - pulling wire, installing handy boxes, wiring outlets, switches, hung the breaker panel, wired up the breakers. That's it, I need a real electrician to hook up the mains and only the Lord knows when that's going to happen!

Apparently there's a whole lot of constrution/re-modeling going on in our area and all the certified trades folks are busy, busy, busy! If I can't get someone in this next week I'm going to connect the mains myself - I know what needs to be done, just need to get up the courage to do it. 40 years or so in another life I had a NM "homeowner's" License - so maybe if I think about it long enough and dig out the workbook and review......

At anyrate I'm chomping at the bit to get moved and get some sawdust up my nose! (Oh my, the scent of newly sawn doug fir!!)

Haven't a clue as to my expertise level. I mostly repair wooden things, or use wood to build patterns for casting. In the past I've built garden sheds and the like for my partner Ms. Cyndy and a few pieces of strictly utility furniture/devices, specialized for one reason or another.

Unfortunately age and disability have caught up to me and I now have to use a wheel chair, mobility scooter or crutches and that's put a big crimp in a lot of activity. The new shop's furniture is designed for "sitting" while doing most tasks which is another reason I'm raring to get into it!
