Hi all, we’re a group of mates making turning videos in Australia in a small studio above our store.

We love turning and just wanted to share the projects we create and reach out to the broader turning community.

In this video Dane turns a catch-all tray using reclaimed timber that turned out to be hiding some pretty nasty cracks that many other turners would have given up on.

For this project we finished the tray using a combination of EEE Ultra Shine and SHELLAWAX Friction Polish from U-Beaut Polishes an Australian made & owned company specialising in finishes for woodturners.

Turned using just a bowl gouge and scraper this is an excellent example of what can be turned with just a simple tool set.

While this project was turned using a scroll chuck, the same results can easily be achieved with a standard face plate and a home made jam-chuck for finishing the bottom.
