Modern changning table with hand tools #3: Making the panels

The next step was to glue up and dimension the panels for the dresser carcass. It turns out this is a lot of work. Especially because I’m not very comfortable with a hand saw so I stayed clear of my cut lines on the panels. Leading to lots of planing on the edges. This was particularly tedious on the end grain edges of each panel. It did make me glad that I have a low angle jack plane. But my krenov plane, which is the first attempt I’ve made with many more planned, worked surprisingly well taking fairly aggressive cuts on the end grain. This was the first time I’ve used my stanley 80 cabinet scraper. I really found this tool useful especially for cleaning up the glue...
