Just wanted to welcome you to a great hobby and darn good website! This has to be the greatest collection of craftsman in the world. You can see all kinds of projects from simple jigs and fixtures to all out great craftsmanship. I was looking at a chuch organ just yesterday that was hand craved by a family of craftsman, I think they were in Denmark. Outstanding work. And then there is a member from Israel named Yuval that does some really great lathe turnings. And of course members from all over the U.S. that have amazing skills. You young sir have made a very wise choice by wanting to become a wood working craftsman. It s a great hobby and could become a career. Check out a1jim, he does this for a living and does amazing work. So again welcome to Lumberjocks.com and to the craft.

Wow, again thanks for the welcome! Made me feel a little more at home. :)

I spent a year in israel studying, and one of my teachers was a turner. Never saw his shop, but I was in his home on multiple occasions and his work was beautiful! How funny would it be if the guy you mentioned is him! I'll check..

    Welcome Raccoon!!!!!!

It s so good to see a young man getting into woodworking. I gained the love of the craft from my grandfather. I learned so much from him but, not enough. You can never learn enough!! He passed away back in 1972 the day after I joined the Navy. I still miss watching him work in his shop!!

Again a big WELCOME to LJ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
