Here is my updated shop photos. It is a 24’ x 24’ dedicated shop (plus lawn and garden stuff). It has slowly evolved over the past 6 years and is pretty comfortable now.

That is a nice shop. The space you have to work with is great. A lot of us have to make do with 1/2 of the garage and you can guess whose vehicle gets to go in the other side and whose has to sit outside in the weather.

But where is the sawdust? I noticed the dust collection system but surely it doesn’t collect all the dust there must be some errant sawdust in the shop.

Do you have heating in the shop? And I didn’t notice a lumber rack. Where do you store your lumber?

I really like your shop. It is well organized and you have plenty of room to work.

Wow bombarded with comments after just a couple hours!!!!

sbryan55 – The concrete floors and MDF tops do a good job of hiding the sawdust, plus I hate a messy shop, so I clean up often. My heat is currently 3 electric heaters. Not ideal, but as long as it is not below 25, it seems to keep it warm enough to work for at least a while. Eventually I hope to ad a gas heater and insulation. The lumber is stored vertically back by the lathe. You can see a little of it in photo 3. Thanks for the interest.

Zuki – I think Ridgid offers a pretty good value, plus HD is not too far away. The bandsaw is a Shop Fox W1706. It is very similar to the Grizzly G0555 but has an enclosed base, cast iron wheels, and a better tension release. It was an exceptional value.

Nice space. Very clean and organized; I’m not sure we allow that here.

Welcome to LJ.

I like the way you’ve painted your base cabinets…gives the whole shop a professional atmosphere. And don’t worry about them ribbin’ ya over the cleanliness and lack of sawdust! They did it to me too! How come you haven’t any wall cabinets though?
