I have always been creative and have renovated 3 houses - now I am turning my hand to smaller more personal things. I have been inspired by recycling things and especially timber. I am currently working with old cross beams from electricity poles and the resisters in all their shapes and sizes, the old bolts included to create what I believe is call modern industrial decorator items like coat racks, book ends, candle centrepieces - I have been with how attached I have become to to timber as I slough away 100 years of weather worn exterior and reveal the beauty within. I am trying not to over work the timber and let its age and all it has seen shine thru - I LOVE that the rest of the world goes quiet as I play in my "playshop" and this week I get my new drill press and mitre saw - I have no idea how to use them - so watch for questions LOL - am also loving the advice and encouragement I get from you guys - Thanks!!!!

Hello TerinaC

I have quite a few pieces of hardwood I recycle from jobs, if they are something you would be interested in please let me and I can give them to you. They are mostly Jarrah or its almost identical species.
I have made a few projects with them and the results are quite impressive.
