I'm an engineer who has done production processes, manufacturing systems, computers, and lean. I've done most things from make a jig to building the factory.

I was a product engineer for a wooden flooring company for a year but before I could get my hands really dirty I was down sized. They had expanded their engineered structures [spelled p-l-y-w-o-o-d] by adding a coating process in what was the cooling house post pressing and no longer had a method of allowing the structure to cool [brilliant]. Without the cooling process, they where experiencing horrific flatness an yield issues so I built a new one. The thing is, my boss was responsible for the deed and my fixing it put a light on who broke it. So now I'm in logistics...

I am in love with the idea of refining my wood working skills and then using that skill on my boat. I'm about an hour and fifteen from the water and I have an old boat with a wooden cabin sole that needs rebuilt. AKA the next big project. Yes - You hear that right, flooring. Sooo, my goal is to make my own. But to do that I need a really good router and a really stout table, project #3. And to rip the planks, I need a really good band saw, project #4.

The table saw was project #1, and a homemade gauge to align it with was project #2, both are done.

The table top for the router station is also done, but I sold my heart before I made the cabinet and I bought a 16" Walker Turner Band Saw that I'm hoping to restore. I've got it on a stand and the motor is out and the blasting, sanding, grinding, etc has begun. OMG what a lot of work. But good stuff.
