I

I am in the process of building the above built-in bookcase for my daughter’s home. As usual, it is taking way longer than it really should. What can I say?

The drawing doesn’t show it, but the base will be raised up an additional 3 inches, and it will be about 6 inches deeper than the shelving above. It will have sliding doors on the bottom unit.. Preparing the tracks has added a lot of work, as I have custom made them. I could have bought some, but I wanted them to be Sapele like the trim and visible plywood will be. There will be a combination of a few fixed shelves (for stability} and movable shelves.

Overall, it is 114.5 inches wide and 103 inches tall on the left and 118 inches in the right (slopped ceiling).

I will post this as I go along, with this and a few other posts soon to bring the project up to date on where I’m at presently. Hope you enjoy.
