Subject: Introduction

Hi, I am Jay Boutwell, I live in Salem Oregon and I am new to Lumber Jocks.

First and foremost I want to Thank all of you for allowing me a membership.

I bring with me over a quarter of a century of woodworking experience. which has been in the cabinet making and custom woodworking trade professionally for over 27 years.

Woodworking began as a hobby while I worked a career in Law Enforcement. Upon completing my Law Enforcement career I began woodworking more extensively and the hobby became a second career and I opened "Cabinet Technology" building high end cabinet work. I am semi-retired now but very active in woodworking producing many items for sale.

My type of work includes but not limited to, custom building of all types of cabinets and specialty cabinets such as hutches, entertainment centers and all types of furniture. I do inlay work, stain glass, engraving and sand blasting, metal fabrication, steam bending and wood and metal turning. I have a knowledge of old school woodworking joinery and tools as well as the new technology such as pocket screw joinery.

I have been teaching a small neighborhood class during the early spring thru a week before Christmas for the last three years and I love to teach. I

I am looking forward to meeting as many woodworker as I can.

Thank you for your time and the opportunity of being a member.

Regards, Jay Boutwell
