I had the pleasure of working with Matthias Wandel of Woodgears this past week, testing out a new object-oriented version of Skype.

This could completely revolutionize woodworking. People from around the world can collaborate on actual projects in real time.

We each documented our demonstration and decided to release our videos today for you to evaluate.

There are still a few bugs in the software, but for the most part, the new Skype is well worth checking out.

My version:

Matthias’s version:

I can only say: beautiful! Where can I download this fantastic software?

Thanks for the laughs, guys, this is the best video I’ve seen in quite a while.

I think the software is a crap shoot. It only seems to work sometimes. I don’t think the odds are in your favor right now to throw it on the market just yet.

Be careful, Be Very Careful.

David Cronenberg tried this very techknowledgy back in 1986 and Jeff Goldblum didn’t fair so well, as I remember it turned him into a “FLY”.
Come to think of it, Matthias Wandel has a slight resemblence to Jeff.

Looking forward to the next release.

Great video and fun guys. It’s good you can integrate this new age technology into a centuries old profession.
