20×24 building in the woods near my home. I have a 16’ ceiling. Dust collection is outside in a separate closet. Main table saw, Powermatic. 16’ work bench along one wall made from a salvaged bowling alley. Left the lane markers in place. Back covered deck 12’x20’ for outside sanding and other jobs.

looks like a nice cozy shop space.tall ceilings are a real pleasure.looks like your a hybrid woodworker,some powere and a lot of hand tool.welcome to lumber jocks stanley.

Bowling alley’s make sure are sturdy platforms, and heavy too. I ripped a 7’ section to 2’ wide for one of our benches. I never new that they were constructed with so many 12 and 16 penny nails. The negative is I cannot drill holes for a holdfast or dogs for fear of encountering nails. When I did the rip, it was necessary to use a demolition blade.

The bowling alley bench top does have a lot of steel in it. I have drilled bench dog holes with a bit that I sharpen after use. Just go slow. The floor is a double floor with the dust collection ducting and 220 power running through it. Two floors also gives me better insulation when it’s really cold. I love my hand tools but enjoy the power tools too.
