I'm 53 and live in Tucson, AZ where I love to bicycle and hike. I have an incredibly cute house with a stunning courtyard where I love to grill out and entertain. I'm just getting back into some woodworking after a long break. I wasn't doing any for a while due to inadequate workspace and machinery. Everything had worn out or failed. An addition on my house is my new workshop. It's not as large as I might have preferred but I usually roll my table saw outside under the ramada. There are few days of the year when I can't work outside and I like to take advantage of it.
I just bought a used table saw which I'm very happy with and I have a new shop vac. I'm updating my router and band saw. I also plan on building a work bench.
I'm finishing a book case which will have doors. The Southwest is dusty and all book cases should have doors. Besides, I don't want to see books. It's a Zen thing for me and seeing minutiae is distracting.
A great deal of my wood is recycled. I can never believe what people discard. I have a lot of maple, beech and just bought 25-30 square feet of stunning walnut for $20. I got it from the man who sold the table saw. It had been an entertainment center he designed so that it could be taken apart in the event he moved. He bought that wood the year I was born. I will give it new life.
