Hey guys, phew it’s been, like, ages.
Scratch that, actually it feels more like it’s been eons!

Anyway, when everyone swapped to the stupid new SSL certificates, my antiquated Mac OS 10.4 browsers no longer could connect to LJs, flickr, facebook, you name it. No update whatsoever, no other browser, abandoned, lost at sea, kicked, doomed, and so on.

Well a lot has changed since I last was able to get here and share stuff with you folks. Mads, Paul and Ken are in the know thanks to facebook, but for the others, wellllll… ^^

Now that I’ve finally been able to get a new old newer-than-my-previous-one computer (a Mac Mini with an Intel processor, that can run more recent OS versions and more recent browsers than handle those f[censored] SSL certz, I’m back.

I’m in the process of becoming a professional gemstone cutter, and I’m also developping a brand new (never done before) software for that community. DOesn’t detract me from woodworking, nor from research on spalters. For that matter I’ve dug really deep into the preservation of Chlorociboria-stained woods, which will be a dedicated blog post. I’ve started spreading the results of my research on the matter with the professional restorers in my country (France) and a book has been in the writing for a long time, since i’m not doing it alone and we both have a lot of work on our hands – but we’ll get there.

More later.

Cheers!

Thomas,
Always great to hear from you. I confess I have done almost nothing on this site for a long time. I got a new camera a few years ago and the resolution is quite high. The max that LJ will accept is around 5 mb and they offer no method on the site of editing the images so I just gave up. I enjoy hearing about all that you are into.
