Howdy all!
I’ve been working with wood for 4 years now, (though I did have that magical semester in 8th grade woodshop- dang I loved that class) and have made mostly furniture for our house and charity auction items for church functions and occasional commissions from friends.
My big project right now is new kitchen cabinets for our kitchen- classical rail and stile raised panel doors with one set of glass front upper cabinets, plywood box construction with wood face frames. I’m slowly working my way through each set, but I keep getting distracted with other projects (like building a pantry, wiring lights and outlets, undercabinet lighting, etc) and also with hurdles as I try to problem solve my way through difficulties with the building.
Most of my projects can be seen here:
There’s a lot to learn and I’m working day by day to get more and more knowledge and skills in the woodshop. There’s difficulties I’ve had in trying to figure out problems in my shop that I think ideally if I had a mentor or some seasoned woodworker come in and show me a few things, I could really soar, but in the absence of that, I’ll post my questions here and hopefully work out some issues.
Credit goes to Ana White, who inspired me to start building and whose simple building plans have been the basis of many of my projects. Let’s get building!
