Location: Erie PA

Hello. I am Michael from Erie PA. A brief life history follows. I am 66 years old, and have lived in the Erie area most of my life. I graduated from high school in 1965, joined the Coast Guard to avoid the draft, and ended up in Viet Nam anyhow. Somehow I'm still here. I attended college thanks to the GI Bill in what I call "The Ten Year Plan" because having changed majors four times and taking some time off to work that's how long it took me to graduate. I ended up with a degree in Wood Furniture with minors in Sculpture and Ceramics. My real interest was boatbuilding. My dad had built a couple small boats when I was a kid and I must have got the bug from him. After (and during) college I did building and remodeling, roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical, cement work, you name it. In 1980 I took a job with the local sailmaker and made sails for 19 years. It got to the point where I wanted to work more with people. I once had a girlfriend who was a massage therapist who told me I would probably be good at that so I made the leap, went to school again, and that is what I've been doing for the last thirteen years. I practice what is called Medical Massage, working mostly with chronic pain and injury clients. As you can see I've been working with my hands for a living all my life.
I like the outdoors: sailing, canoeing, biking, hiking, even just sitting sometimes.

I'll post some of the stuff I've built, helped build, worked on, and am currently working on in Projects or wherever the appropriate place is once I figure out how to navigate this site.
