Bowl steady rest - 14 replies

I’m in bad need of one,I’m looking at the Oneway but my lathe has a gap bed.I don’t think it will work when doing shallow bowls, I can’t get the tool rest close enough with it on.Anyone run in to this?If so, how did you make it work?Thanks as always.Rick

ZAPPED!!! - 2 replies

I just put a canister filter on my 2 hp Grizzly dust collector,Works great, but when running if I touch the filter on the outside wire mesh I get ZAPPED from the static build up.The canister has a rubber gasket on the bottom so I know it’s not grounding.Any one ever have to run a ground wire to it before?Thanks,Rick

Tool Rest Question? - 6 replies

I would like to get a more easy on the hands tool rest for my grizzly lathe. It has a 3/4 post and I find most rest are 1’’ post. My banjo needs a 1 1/2 ways, and I can’t find one of them to replace mine to make a 1’’ post work. Any help would be great. Thanks,Rick

I need to find a home for my lathe in my shop - 18 replies

Dose it work out better to have the lathe against a wall or out in the middle of the room? I don’t have a lot of room to work with because of all the other big tools, with that said I’ll need to bolt the thing to the floor sooner or later.
