well the big move has happened, now I sit in my new place, and I’ve had a realization…the new entertainment center I’ve been working on…is TOTALLY USELESS for my new place, which is fine, I just have to find a new use for the parts of it I’ve already built…stupid gas fireplaces in apartments…the free heat is nice though.

Hey, Shawn, I was thinking we hadn’t heard from you recently – moving can be a challenge. Wait until you’re my age – a lifetime of stuff – ugh!

Pity about the entertainment unit. Didn’t you measure the space before you started? Perhaps not. If you are renting an apartment you maybe didn’t see it prior to commencing the project.

Glad you were noticing my absence Don. I started the project for my old place…then wifey and I decided it was time to move on to something a little bigger and better, I wasn’t planning on moving until I was buying, but we both have to be happy where we live. Even at the cost of my entertainment unit…and my tables which my buddy decided needed to be bashed against the gate of my underground parking…oh when friends help you move…All in all I’m actually really happy with the new place, now I ust have to modify my design to fit the room. We’re going chair shopping (I dont think I’m ready to build a set of dinning chiars) then I’m going to build us a new dinning room table. Wife wants to go to ikea…get some more stuff, BUT, I have the lumber, so maybe find something she likes and we can design a new project together…so this move has given me opportunity to build:

New book cases
Dinning room set (again I’m afriad of chairs)
Modify Entertainment center
Speaker stands
New Bed(s) and now that I think of it, what I started for my entertainment unit could easily become new nite stands for our bedroom

I have quite the to do list now that I think about it. I better get some rest.

sounds exciting :)
I hate moving!! This past year we moved my daughter twice, Rick, my Mom, and I almost forgot my son’s move to BC (try not to focus on that—all the way across the country now)..

Anyway,... How sad about the entertainment unit (especially thinking about your “buying a house” in the future and then it would fit…).
I bet your wife will enjoy designing the furniture; then she’ll be hooked on the process and your list will grow and grow and grow :)
Get plenty of rest!!
