View on YouTube I made this box as a gift for my friend Linn from the Darbin Orvar channel. We made plans to drive down to Corvallis to meet with Linn and her husband Matt, and I decided to make this wooden box for them as a gift. I used some tropical hardwood for the sides (I think it was Ipe), and cherry wood for the top and bottom. The liner was Paduk. I only had a few days to make it, so I worked up until the last minute. Part 2: Making Cutting Boards Out Of a Single Peice of Solid Wood

I made these paddle-style cutting boards out of solid 6/4” maple. This is thick enough that they shouldn’t warp, and they can be sanded down a number of times. It is called a paddle-style cutting board because its handle makes it look a bit like a paddle. The handle makes it easy to carry and hang, and also gives it a unique character.
