My shop is a 26’ x 32’ garage with a 9’ ceiling. Almost everything is on wheels so I can quickly rearrange as needed. My wife’s car is almost always in one stall, but she’s flexible when I need her space for a large project (for a limited time of course).

Over the past decade I’ve watched Craiglist daily and been blessed to outfit the shop with Delta stationary tools, all bought used for less than half the cost of new equipment. Everything works except the wide drum sander and lathe, both need work.

I have a 200amp electrical panel, a grid of twenty 4’ fluorescent light fixtures with Daylight bulbs (one of the best shop improvements ever), and 3 ceiling fans. I put in a Utility sink, and have plumbing for a toilet, but haven’t built out the bathroom (not sure I want to give up the space). Three 3’x5’ windows let in some natural light.

Here’s the floor plan:

Quite a nice work space you have.
20 light fixtures, man that must be nice and bright.
Right now I have 6 4’ t8 dual bulb fixtures.
Could be brighter but I’m happy with them for now.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice shop!
I’m in the process of seting up my shop. Lighting is a HUGE priority, workshop has to be BRIGHT (as I am not)!Love to see a TV. Hate to miss “Rough Cut” or the “News”.

BTW: Welcome to LJs!

Sawdust, that’s a very impressive shop that you have there. It’s still a nice size shop even with your wife’s car in there. Just keep on covering up her car with sawdust and maybe she’ll start parking outside. ;-| Welcome to Lumberjocks.
