A lot of learning, as this was my first attempt at tackling a large tree, but with no injuries and the great pieces i was able to bring home for the ultimate low price of FREE, I consider it a win. My 18” bar isn’t quite long enough to cut all the way through, even when going from both sides, so the cookies aren’t great, but hopefully salvageable. Hoping to go back for round 2 today. Part 2: Day 2 - Heartbreak

I reached out to the Craigslist poster on day two to make sure I could still come back Saturday afternoon. Response: “Nah man, that tree is gone. The neighbors don’t get along and they just wanted it gone.” :( After a few hours, I sent a text asking if the poster happened to stage tree materials anywhere before taking them to the dump. Part 3: Day 3 - Reunited

I show up to the tree location about 20 minutes early, as I wanted to get set up a bit before the poster showed. (I’ve only been using a chainsaw for a few months and am not really all that confident, so I like to take my time to get in the swing of things each time.)
