« Part 1: All packed up-almost... Part 2 of Moving the family series no next part

It has been a long time, but a new chapter is starting in my families life. Since my last entry almost three years ago I have moved to Fla and lived in three different houses on 2 different coasts. I have continuously worked 12-15 hours a day 5-6 days a week. I have spent very little time on my work bench and have focused on spending any of my extra time with my girls.

As of right now I am unemployed and looking for work back on the WV/MD area. This is the area we have decided is “home” and our landing spot for the next 15-20 years. While being unemployed, I am able to spend time at home with my girls and it is the best. There is so much that I have missed out on and so much that I am able to be a part of because of these circumstances. Especially this time of year and all of the holiday parties and read-alongs. I am that sappy day who likes being there for his girls and knowing what they are doing. I would rather go fishing with my kids than watch football or work on a project.

Another benefit of all this is I have been able to spend a ton more tie in my “shop”. I say my “shop” because it is just my work bench in the front of a garage stuffed with moving boxes with a few plastic totes of tools that I am working out of. This time however, has been critical to my perspective in the past week and keeping me focused on what I am doing and setting goals. In the past week I have been able to complete my saw bench project, which is insanely satisfying, as well as start a refurb of my work bench. (There are few things that I have been wanting and needing to do to get it where I would like it. I will be posting some shots once those are completed in my work bench thread.) All in all I am grateful for this opportunity and the strength I have found with my family.

Thanks for listening.

Sam

Glad to have you back east and time with the kids is the best this time of the year
